Yoga Therapy
Nervous System Reset
Overwhelm, constant stress, and fatigue are the status quo these days. Maybe you feel it too - constantly on edge, not sleeping well, irritable, and anxious. A recent CNN/Kaiser Family poll noted that 90% (!) of Americans feel we are in a mental health crisis. According to the CDC, 1 in 5 adults live with a mental illness.
If this is you, you certainly aren't alone, and it isn't your fault. The common denominator among symptoms related to mental illness and exhaustion is a dysregulated nervous system, which many folks don't realize.
Yoga therapy offers a precise approach to healing that incorporates tools to help ease imbalances in mind, body, and spirit. It leaves no part of the human experience behind.
In this four-session series, you will learn tools you can take home and use to keep your nervous system in check for life. Based on your needs, the sessions will include:
-
Developing an asana (postures) practice to help balance your body
-
Healthy functional breathing instruction (critical to nervous system re-regulation and breathwork practices you can use every day)
-
Exploring mindfulness and meditation practices to address the mental challenges associated with nervous system dysregulation

Looking for an accessible and not intimidating group experience?
My primary work is 1:1 yoga therapy, but I also teach group classes at Kindred Flow Yoga in Cincinnati. If you are local, please check out the studio schedule HERE.
All my classes are trauma-informed, using the tenets of Traum Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga. I teach a slower vinyasa-style class on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 to 11:00, a mindfulness-based gentle flow on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 10:45, and a very slow, relaxing (get ready for bed) class on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
So, if you are looking for relief through yoga but are not ready or interested in 1:1, please check out my classes.
I am also thrilled to be part of a healing collective, Nourish at be. along with the yoga studio here in Cincinnati, which includes some amazing women. Check that out HERE.

Why Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy (YT) using the healing power of an ancient practice to build resilience in the body. When we have resiliency, we can tap into our innate ability to heal. Therefore, YT can be used to help manage a lot of different conditions.
How is this possible?
There are very few healing modalities that consider all layers of being human and are so highly customized. If you incorporate these practices into your life you will gain resilience. YT rebuilds resiliency layer by layer within the human experience. You will be given practices that help to balance your entire being. This is beyond the physical poses most of us know from our yoga classes.
This is why it works.
In YT we use a much broader range of practices–thousands of years old and supported by modern science–to facilitate healing. These tools are curated for YOU as an individual, working step-by-step through each layer of being.
The Layers of Being (Human)
How is your physical/energetic and mental state of being?
-
Can you move without pain?
-
Do you have joint mobility and freedom?
-
Is your muscular strength even and balanced?
-
Do you have steady energy throughout the day?
-
Do you breathe and move with ease?
-
Are you thinking clearly?
-
Do you feel calm and emotionally balanced?
-
Can you be in the present moment?
Get more 'yeses' for your health!
Answering yes to all of these questions may seem like a tall order, and it is. But we can use yogic tools to address imbalances in each of these areas, to get more 'yeses' than 'no's', creating better full body balance and ease suffering.
